Work Experience

  • Strategic Advisor, Community Building

    2024

I built the largest community of women in tech and now I teach people how to build communities at scale. I charge by the hour (it's expensive) but I'll tell you everything I've learned in the shortest amount of time possible :) Drop me a line at allison@juniperpet.co to book me (limited spots per month) I don't check LinkedIn messages (I get too many) so email is your best bet. Thanks!

2014 - 2023

  • Founder + CEO

    2014 - 2023

I founded Tech Ladies, the largest community of women in tech in 2014. I bootstrapped Tech Ladies from $0 to millions in revenue and sold the company in 2022. I'm proud that we helped hundreds of women in tech find jobs, and helped thousands of companies hire more women in tech to their teams.

2015 - 2016

  • Senior Content Manager, Google Play

    2015 - 2016

At Google I strategized, created, wrote, and measured campaigns for Google Play that engaged and delighted millions of customers around the world. I was responsible for creating content, strategizing who should get the campaigns, and analyzing and reporting on performance to share with stakeholders throughout the company. On a daily basis, my role involved coordinating with many teams including production, merchandising, localization, legal, and user trust teams.

Oyster (acquired by Google)

2014 - 2015

  • Marketing Manager

    2014 - 2015

At Oyster I led the branding, messaging, and the voice of the brand. It was fun! I also led all aspects of organic growth, including creating web and social content. On a daily basis I wrote, measured, and tested all in-app product copy, web copy, and advertising copy to drive sales/subscriptions. We were a small but dynamic team and together we launched a bunch of amazing stuff including: • Lumin, a revolutionary advancement for reading on smartphones and tablets. 2013 - 2014

  • Product Marketing Manager

    2013 - 2014

At Foursquare I worked across teams of engineers, designers, and product managers to produce all UX copy for the Foursquare & Swarm apps.
I also wrote and managed all web copy including writing 150+ posts a year on the company blog. On the marketing side, I worked on launches including the launch of Foursquare Ads, Foursquare 7, and Swarm.
I also led social strategy and produced content for a combined audience of 1.5 million people across Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
I'm most proud of spearheading a collection of B2B case studies and email campaigns that increased ad sales. Another great project was reactivating 25,000+ users by creating messaging strategy for Android & iOS notifications and optimizing email campaigns that reactivated 50,000+ users.
