Parkwalk invests in high-growth companies, with a focus on technology and innovation primarily developed in UK universities. The companies range from early stage through to AIM-listed. Parkwalk is one of the leading investors in UK technology and growth companies and has raised c. £50m in the last year. The Parkwalk Funds seek capital appreciation, with the added advantage to investors of the tax reliefs provided by the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) and Business Investment Relief. Parkwalk has a successful track-record investing in early-stage IP-rich companies spinning out of these universities. This strategy, coupled with generous EIS tax relief, offers the potential for substantial tax-free capital gains for investors. In addition, through the company’s unique access to some of the highest-calibre innovation generated within UK universities and research-intensive institutions, investors will have early access to world class ideas normally available only to selective Angel groups, venture capital houses and specialist groups with commercialisation rights. Parkwalk often has a seat on the Board of any investee company and, where not, keeps regular contact with management to monitor the strategic and tactical direction of travel, and to challenge it where necessary. Investors are encouraged to be involved in this process through detailed newsletters and invitations to company presentations. Parkwalk involves investors as much or as little as suits investors’ circumstances.
