2013

  • Member Board of Directors

    2013

1995 - 1998

  • Senior Product Manager

    1995 - 1998

Responsible for launching and managing several versions of award winning Quicken software products and helped launch Quicken.com personal finance site. My tenure at Intuit was during the early phase of online banking and Quicken’s heated battle with Microsoft Money (they even started giving Money away for free). As a Senior Product Manager I had responsibility for setting product direction and strategy, feature prioritization, customer research, marketing communications and positioning, PR and launch activities. To this day I maintain a love for the personal finance market and am fortunate to be working with many of my former Intuit colleagues on new companies.

Robertson Stephens

1994 - 1994

  • Associate

    1994 - 1994

Summer Associate in M&A and Corporate Finance. Worked with private equity group looking at mid-market buyouts and the M&A advisory team. I developed an appreciation and respect for the role investment bankers play in facilitating transactions, but also realized I wanted to be more of a principal than an agent.

Monitor Group

1989 - 1993

  • Consultant

    1989 - 1993

Fresh out of college I was given a surprising amount of responsibility and broad exposure to management and business strategy projects, mostly for large enterprises. I was even transferred to The Netherlands to be the day to day client point person for a large Dutch shipper and drilling company. I hope they got what they wanted, but I sure got a great “trial by fire” education. Other industries I worked in included telecommunications, retail, local services, transportation and logistics, and consumer goods. Having seen the way large enterprises operate and the challenges they face has proven very helpful in my enterprise software and SaaS investing.
