Newtopia VC is a new venture capital in Latin America that presents its first $50 million fund to invest in Latin American talent and to support technology enterprises in the region. Through investment and mentoring, Newtopia VC seeks to help early-stage entrepreneurs grow regionally and /or globally. Newtopia VC has a community of more than 70 top-tier founders as investors, advisors, and partners, who will guide companies in the portfolio so as to achieve their business goals. Marcos Galperin (founder of Mercado Libre); Martín Migoya (Globant); Miguel Santos (Technisys); Facundo Garretón (Blueberries Medical Corp and InvertirOnline); Emiliano Kargieman (Satellogic) and Matías Woloski (Auth0) are among them. Newtopia's 10-week program works with companies to find the right product for the right market, to achieve initial goals and to lay the foundations for further growth. The fund's founders were investing or advising companies on their own, but the new financing will allow them to put together that assistance to help hundreds of startups rather than only a few. The project is led by six key actors within the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem. Among them are Patrick Jutard (Co-founder of MURAL, the last Argentine unicorn); Mariano Mayer (Former National Secretary of SMEs and Entrepreneurs in Argentina and founder of Marea Venture Partners); Sacha Spitz (co-founder and partner of Yavu Ventures, and former director of Incubadora of San andrés University); Jorge Aguado (Former National Secretary of Science and Technology and Innovation in Argentina), Juan Pablo Lafosse (Founder and former General Director of ALMUNDO, one of the major OTAs in the region), and Diego Noriega (Co-founder of 23 Startups, ex alaMaula & eBay).
