miLAB Research teams focus on the future of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). The research explores interactions between people and technology by developing innovative prototypes and by studying human behavior and interaction with these prototypes. The "BUD" project is a non-humanoid robotic object designed according to guidelines researched at the lab for older adults. The robot addresses the growing problem of older adults feeling not "being-seen" and "homeless at home" by implementing non-verbal gestures and using a primary function which is not companionship to enhance acceptance. My work at the lab included: * Reading and writing academic papers. * Arranging protocols and conducting experiments. * User studies and user testing. * Rapid prototyping. * Working closely with the design and development team of the project. * Recruiting participants for the studies.
