Then building startups, i.e. writing a business plan, recruiting (external) management, acquiring external financing and in some cases generating first external revenue. Finaly spinning off the startup. In some cases striking relevant licensing deals.

    Sales and marketing director of dataware house startup financed by 3i, Siemens and tbd. Company ended up failing.

  • Project Manager

    1997 - 2001

    Top management consulting unit within Siemens. Then led by Klaus Kleinfeld and Horst Kayser. Did restructuring projects successfully cutting cost and realizing significant productivity gains (Med Tech, Telco, heavy equipment business units, HR benchmarking with focus on recruiting and people development in the IT service division and setting up a Corporate Incubator. Did a very well-received study "Benchmarking Corporate Venture Capital".

  • Senior Consultant

    1992 - 1995

    Implement a credit card payment system (cobol based) at the largest Mastercard processor in Germany. Spent almost a year at an Anderson client in Columbus, Ohio.

    Learned commercial banking. Bought stocks before and after the 1987 stock market crash.
