Zinc brings together the brightest minds to build and scale a brand new way to solve the most important social problems faced by the developed world. Zinc's approach focuses on building scalable solutions, based on the best social science research, exponential technologies and creative design, to tackle their three missions rooted in mental health, globalization and automation, and ensuring high-quality years to later life. My role at Zinc is incredibly varied, but my primary focus is in supporting the Venture-Builder Programme. Here, I fostered strong foundations for an active community and the companies in our portfolio to thrive through developing an operationally smooth recruitment process, organising and managing events, along with crafting compelling marketing and communication campaigns. Tasks often include managing and coordinating the following on a day-to-day basis: - Working collaboratively to define the community goals and pilot new ways of engagement - Event organisation and management - Scheduling and booking talks, workshops and appointments - Assisting with the programme recruitment process - Operational admin and automation - Social media communications by developing a strong ‘voice’ for our brand through written and visual means - Communications with the internal and external Zinc Community

2018 - 2018

  • International Volunteer

    2018 - 2018

ECHO100plus is an Austrian NGO operating as a support system for the residents of the Leros Refugee Camp (Hotspot and Reception and Identification Center). This charity offers educational materials and support to refugees, aiming to help with the arduous challenges of migration and integration. My position as a volunteer was to help facilitate a safe space for refugees and disadvantaged members of the Greek community to learn and practice new skills. This involved guiding adult participants through a variety of classes, such as: - Language courses (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Greek) - Computer and professional development courses (CV writing, interview skills, and scholarship application assistance) - Music lessons (guitar, percussion, and singing) - Sports and fitness classes (yoga, football, basketball, and swimming) - Arts and crafts activities (pottery, drawing, painting, drama, photography, and film) These duties allowed me to develop my teamwork, interpersonal and problem-solving skills to create a strong foundation of support among all volunteers and attendees. My confidence setting up and maintaining administrative systems using IT was also developed whilst volunteering, as a crucial element of my position was to compile accurate records of student progress and the effectiveness of activities, working to secure positive results for all participants. In addition, I also undertook the role of fundraising officer by managing social media accounts and updating/maintaining online and offline accounts.
