Eric is the founding partner of Fathom Law, a modern business and technology law firm. Eric has over 25 years of experience in corporate, securities, and intellectual property law. He advises entrepreneurs, emerging growth and middle market companies in all aspects of business formation, governance, corporate finance, commercial and IP transactions and mergers and acquisitions. He also represents angel and venture capital investors, private equity firms, investment bankers and broker-dealers in connection with regulatory matters, investment and finance transactions. In addition to his legal experience, Eric is a former digital media company founder and is an active angel investor and member of SF Angels and Keiretsu Forum. Eric is regularly recognized as a Northern California Super Lawyer in Business and Corporate law. He is the co-creator of the popular PitchForce venture competition, the chair of the annual MobiTech mobile technology conference, and a regular panelist and mentor at a wide range of technology events and accelerators.

Eric was a Shareholder and led the West Coast Emerging Growth and Venture Capital practice at LeClairRyan. Eric focused his practice on equity and debt finance, corporate, securities and intellectual property transactions. Eric represented private and public companies in connection with corporate finance and venture capital, mergers and acquisitions,securities law, digital media and technology transactions, product distribution and advertising, and business and intellectual property litigation. Eric served as general counsel to many industry leading technology companies and financial services firms and has been recognized on multiple occasions as a Northern California Super Lawyer by Law & Politics magazine.

Eric was a founder of and General Counsel to IRIS Distribution, a leading digital distributor and media marketing company. IRIS was acquired by The Orchard, a division of Sony Music, in May 2012.
