As Senior Vice-President, I was responsible for BASF’s Performance Chemicals Regional Business Unit. Based in Hong Kong, leading a team of 1,000+ in 15 countries throughout Asia-Pacific with 12 manufacturing plants in China, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and R&D facilities in Shanghai and Mumbai. As an innovation partner, BASF’s Performance Chemicals offers a broad portfolio of functional products, additives and system solutions for customer industries, such as plastics, automotive, refineries, lubricants, oilfield and mining.

As Senior Vice-President of the BASF Global Business Unit Leather and Textile Chemicals, I was based in Singapore leading a team of 600+ located in multiple geographic locations worldwide with manufacturing plants and R&D facilities in Germany, Spain, China and India. BASF Leather and Textile Chemicals was supplying innovative chemistry that enables Leather and Textile producers to make superior products, as well as improving sustainability of the Leather and Textile production. The business has been divested to the companies Archroma (Textile Chemicals) and Stahl (Leather Chemicals). I was leading both businesses through the successful divestitures.

As Senior Vice-President of the Global Business Unit Polyamide and Intermediates, I was based at BASF’s global headquarters in Ludwigshafen, Germany leading a team of 1,300+ based in multiple geographic locations worldwide with manufacturing plants in Germany, Belgium, USA and China. BASF Polyamide and Intermediates was a leading integrated global supplier of Polyamide polymers for the textile fiber, carpet fiber, industrial fiber, engineering plastics, technical and packaging film industries. It also supplied chemical intermediates including Caprolactam, Adipic Acid and Hexamethylenediamine (HMD).

As Senior Vice-President of the Regional Business Unit Engineering Plastics Asia Pacific, I was based in our Singapore leading a team of 600+ based in various locations in Asia-Pacific with manufacturing plants, product and application development centers in China, Japan, Korea, India and Malaysia. BASF Engineering Plastics supplies the Automotive, Electronic and other Industries with Polyamide, Polybuthylene Terephtalate (PBT), Polyethersulfone (PES/PSU) and Polyoxymethylene (POM) based polymers and polymer compounds enabling metal substitution, lightweight construction and cost-efficient manufacturing
