• Project lead, focused on the gut and tumor microbiome in immunotherapy response (collaboration with Novartis IO/ONC). • Initiator of internal activities and contributor to project investigating the role of the intestinal vagus nerve to neurodegenerative diseases (joint with Novartis-Neuroscience). • Evaluated BD&L and academic opportunities in microbiome space. Supported alliance management with existing academic partners. • Contributed to re-development of microbiome group’s research strategy Strategy Secondment • NIBR BD&L external innovation strategy. • NVS White Space Working Group: Assessment and landscaping of new indications and platforms to identify new opportunities for the organization. Responsible for new spaces recommendations to working group led by corporate strategy and contributor to new platform development roadmap.

Oversaw international expansion of the organization in a franchise-like manner, expanding from 2 cities in Mexico to over 7 countries in Latin America. Clubes de Ciencia is an organization (Science Clubes Internacional) led by scientists in Latin America and the US with the mission of increasing the access to the highest quality science education in LatAm. Developed the growth and fundraising, educational and operational strategy for CdeC-Mexico. Managed group operations (academic and operational). Restructured the organization to increase efficiencies, agility and accountability. Oversaw and co-led the expansion and institutionalization of the group. Clubes de Ciencia Mexico (CdeCMx) is an organization led by scientists in Mexico and the US with the mission of increasing the access to the highest quality science education in LatAm, operating in over 8 cities in Mexico and 7 countries in Spain and Latin America. In CdeC we have created a program that combines in-person and digital learning, providing students with the competencies necessary for the onset of a scientific career, inspiring the future generation of young researchers while creating collaborative scientific, education and innovation driven networks. http://www.clubesdeciencia.mx/

Postdoctoral Fellow

Primary research in cell division and structural biology focused on : High-resolution Cryo-EM studies of protein binding interfaces and regulation of binding affinities. Developed project, acquired funding and managed project on synthetic Biology: Development of 3D DNA Origami protein-complex seeding structures. Recognized by Harvard Medical School Innovation Grant.

Conducted primary research and led cross-functional, cross-site teams investigating the cytoskeleton and cell division. In vitro and in vivo investigation of the unique enzyme and structural adaptations of microtubule molecular motors required for length-regulation and scaling; engineering of the first synthetic depolymerase.

Graduate student in Sue Biggins' laboratory. In vitro and in vivo investigation of the biophysical aspects of the spindle checkpoint, kinetochore assembly, and mitotic force transduction using purified yeast kinetochores.
