2016 - 2019
Head of Innovation Department - IDF Spokesperson
2018 - 2019
Served as head of the Innovation Department where I ran a wide-array of technical projects before the completion of my service. I still do regular reserve duty in the Spokesperson's Unit and other IDF/IAF units.
Manager & Co-Founder - Air Force Accelerator
2017 - 2019
The first internal military accelerator of it's kind, that takes teams of active duty soldiers and officers to work on internal (non-commercial) challenges that the IAF faces. I founded and managed two cohorts of the first-ever internal military accelerator that worked to solve challenges faced by the Air Force. Working closely with top advisors, such as Steve Blank from Stanford, I created a 10 week long accelerator program where soldiers and officers worked in team to solve internal organizational and technological challenges. With a limited budget and little initial support, I was able to partner with large companies like Google and Microsoft to host the program. I ran the 3rd cohort through my reserve service, and the program was put on hold during COVID, and I hope to get it back up and running soon. The accelerator received a commendation from the Air Force Chief of Staff.
Head of Innovation Department - Israeli Air Force
2017 - 2018
The Air Force Innovation Department is the first of its kind in any military, and it aims to increase the innovative spirit in the air force by providing soldiers with the tools and resources to make a bigger impact during their service and solve major problems that the IDF faces. As Interim Head of Innovation - (מ"מ ראש מדור חדשנות ח"א), and Deputy Commander - (קמ"ד חדשנות ח"א) I have worked to facilitate external partnerships, education, and new projects within the IDF, government bodies, multinational corporations, startups, NGOs, and anywhere that we can find new ways of collaboration. The IAF Innovation Department works to create a culture of innovation in the Air Force by researching and developing new ways that large organizations can foster innovation, and provide the organization with the out-of-the-box tools to become innovative. We do not look for technical innovation (weapons systems, software/cyber...), rather on ways to make the organization more efficient, to save money, and improve the lives of soldiers with methodologies and best practices from the civilian innovation ecosystem. The first internal military accelerator of it's kind, that takes teams of active duty soldiers and officers to work on internal (non-commercial) challenges that the IAF faces.
