CEO & Co-founder at Talyn Air, a company that was creating a new paradigm in eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) flight. We went through Y Combinator in Winter 2020, then built the company to 20 people, raised >$6M in private funding and >$4M in DoD funding, and built some amazing subscale and full-scale aircraft prototypes. We were acquired by Ampaire in July 2023. Our full-scale prototype was a 36 foot wing-span carbon-composite eVTOL aircraft developed with support from the USAF. The prototype lives on at Ampaire as a development test-bed. My responbilities included managing the team, fundraising, product development and commercialization.

Developing deployable satellite structures and antennas for commercial applications in the burgeoning cube sat world. Designed, tested, and built as Responsible Engineer aft thermal shield for Falcon 9 first stage, enabling the first reentry and landing of an orbital first stage in history. Designed, tested, and built thrust structure for F9 Full Thrust and F9 Heavy. Designed and tested Dragon 1 Quick Disconnect system for launch pad to cargo bay umbilical connections.

Part of a team of 5 engineers that designed, built, and flew a 5000 lbm optionally manned airplane in 9 months. Plane was called Firebird and made cover of Aviation week. I was responsible for the structure of the booms and tail and control surfaces. Flight engineer on program, including test plan writing, monitoring, chase plane engineer, and flight test engineer in charge of test.
