    Performed data collection, calculations, analysis, mapping work, and researched relevant water policy in order to evaluate the best options for a sustainable water supply system in rural South Africa. Collaborated with six team members to produce a 40 page thesis that designed, specified, and developed a slow sand filter, distribution system, and implementation plan for a sustainable water supply system in a rural village in Limpopo, South Africa. Awarded the Jefferson Public Citizens Research Grant of $30,000 and travelled to South Africa for 7 weeks throughout the summer to implement a water supply system that would bring clean water to a village of 1,000 community members.
