As CEO of AOL Europe, Kate Burns was responsible for setting strategy and overseeing the day-to-day operations of AOL’s EMEA business. During her time at AOL she led an astonishing business turnaround. Kate and her team successfully re-set the strategy and re-built the business in to an efficient profit making region with the acquisition of Go Viral and the European launch of The Huffington Post.

In 2001, Burns joined Google as Director, UK, Ireland and Benelux, notably as its first international employee outside, where she led Google to strong international success. She built her team from 1 to over 300 employees in 5 years, and lead her region to be one of the most profitable and strategically influential contributors to Google's place as one of the world's most admired companies.
