Transitioned go-to-market strategy from Channel/reseller- based model to direct enterprise customer acquisition model. Focused on scaling adoption of platform through third-party web service based integrations, multi-tenant architectures, continuous delivery on the emerging (2006) AWS platform. Responsibilities included architecture and vision of platform, product management, project management, and day to day management of dev team.

Sr. Staff Engineer - Platform and API Design

2003 - 2004

Sr. Staff Engineer working within R&D focused on designing next-generation call management API in Java. Platform was commercially released as Avaya Communication Management API (CMAPI). API abstracted low-level, complex telco interactions into easy to use Java API supporting first-party call initiation and media-processing through "soft-phone like capabilities". API leveraged and abstracted multi-threading, NIO, and networking libraries. Team-lead responsibilities including performing code and architectural reviews, prototype development, and collaborating with product marketing.

Sr. Enterprise Architect

2003 - 2003

Refactored MVP of a SOAP-based internal API into a API gateway used by disparate internal applications and external third-party applications. API gateway provided GIS-based data, as well as costing and feasibility data required when provisioning a new network segment on the Level(3) network. Team-lead responsibilities included code and architecture reviews, interfacing with product management and analysts, and cost / LOE estimation.

Oversaw the technology vision, strategy, and development of eCarCredit's financial services tools. eCarCredit was one of the nation's first online one-stop car-buying service, handling everything from financing to finding the perfect car just for you. Oversaw technology strategy and R&D teams responsible for building technology enabled solutions in support of online financing platform. Utilized Agile methodology within in a Java / Open Source tech stack. Participated in capital raise, investor and board meetings.

Director of Architecture

2001 - 2002

Oversaw the technology vision, strategy, and development of eCarCredit's financial services tools, including B2B interactions with financial services using Web Services. The eCarCredit platform was one of the first to create and publish web-based APIs (XML over HTTP) to the auto and financial services industries, including participating in the development of XML based loan application exchanges.

Java Platform Developer

1999 - 2001

Staff Java Engineer working on Java Language, specifically on the javax. extensions for distributed programming, including: RMI, JINI, JIRO. Worked with R&D team to produce new Java language extension (JCP-based) providing discovery, management, and control capabilities of SAN and NAS hardware devices. Interfaced with other Java language teams in to define industry standards, Sun Product Marketing, and initial customers to ensure language extension met market expectations.

Master Java Instructor

1997 - 1999

Master Java instructor overseeing instructor development and instructor certification, including building Java Train the Trainer program. Collaborated with Java Platform team, Marketing, and Curriculum development to identity new curriculum offerings. Worked with Curriculum Development teams to change delivery structure from slideware to lab-based experiential learning. Delivered curriculums on Adv. Java, Java Architecture, Distributed Programming with Java, Java Performance Tuning as well as curriculums on Solaris Administration and Network administration. * Inaugural speaker at Java University * 4-time speaker at Java University * Keynote Speaker at JavaOne on Jini with Bill Joy Taught roughly 2,500 engineers how to effectively program Java.
