Since the launch of the programme in February 2018, I've been a member of numerous juries in Brussels or virtual. I've worked in teams with some of the sharpest investors in Europe, met some incredible founders, assessed hundreds of technology startups and scaleups, and invested in more than 80 European companies. We act as the investment committee providing grants of up to €2.5m and equity up to €15m. The European Commission SME Instrument is now part of the European Innovation Council (EIC) pilot that supports top-class innovators, entrepreneurs, small companies and scientists with funding opportunities as well as acceleration services. The EIC Fund is becoming the largest VC fund in the EU with 3,5€ Bn in capital for investments in equity. The main focus is on radical, market-creating innovations to improve productivity, international competitiveness, and generate new jobs.
