AngelVest Group was launched in 2007, in affiliation with the Shanghai chapter of the Asia America Multi Technology Association (“AAMA”), one of Silicon Valley’s leading business networks (www.aamasv.com). Our mission is to help our members identify and invest in compelling early-stage businesses in China. We also provide a venue for entrepreneurs to raise early-stage capital from accredited angel investors. Entrepreneurs typically seek to raise from US $100K to $500K, and can enjoy the benefits of continued interaction and mentorship by our angel investors. Unlike the United States and other developed countries, there are few, if any, institutionalized angel groups in China today. AngelVest has grown to be the leading organized angel investment group in China, with presence mainly in Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong. Currently, AngelVest has over 70 members, most of whom are senior professionals within their respective industries (technology, media, healthcare/biotech, clean tech, real estate, retail/consumer products, manufacturing, legal, and financial services including venture capital and private equity). Membership is by invitation only and we maintain high professional and ethical standards for each of our members.

Sentient Collective is a creative organization dedicated to helping humanity break away from our current consumption and unsustainable growth based economic model, into a narrative that is inclusive of all cultures and sentient life, in which everyone can contribute. Through design, film, and innovation training, we strive to positively change human perspective, society, and ultimately how we treat our only home, Earth. Over the past year we have been working hard on producing our full length feature documentary, SENTIENT. We hope that this film will change the way that we look at each other, ourselves, and all of those which with whom we inhabit this planet. But also, we hope that SENTIENT will awaken us to the power we have within ourselves to transform our current planetary crises. SENTIENT, offers a new perspective on what each of us can do to solve our world’s most pressing ecological and socio-economic problems; through reconnection with something bigger than our individual selves, and through painless adjustments in our acts of daily living. SENTIENT looks at our human social myths of Economy, Capitalism, and Society, and shows that just as we have created these myths, we can un-create them, challenging us to see a different narrative for the future.

Bits x Bites is China’s first profit+purpose food-focused accelerator and venture capital fund to invest in sustainable food startups. With a mission to shape the future of food, it is a big step forward to inspire China’s entrepreneurial community to bring new ideas to solve global issues. It also serves as a critical catalyst to give startups the confidence and connections to prosper. Over 15 weeks, Bits x Bites offers three key elements critical for a startup to scale rapidly for profit and impact: community, capital, and coaching. The founding teams learn important skills to build and grow a sustainable business, sharpen their business plans, and accelerate development. Being part of a food-only accelerator also lends them tremendous insights and access across the Chinese farm-to-table food system.
