    Urban fellows work with New Haven community organizations to address challenges of urban living (i.e. economic development, community building, family empowerment, and public health). The program, funded by the Yale Office of New Haven Affairs, provides a unique experience, training the fellow through exposure to contemporary urban issues. In my time at the Office of Development and Policy at New Haven City Hall, I played the following roles: •Developing and writing two weekly newsletters on arts and youth grant opportunities in the city of New Haven. •Researching and identifying new funding sources for City Hall projects and local community initiatives. •Collaborating with departments across City Hall on grant-writing and project development.

    Reproductive Health Uganda (RHU) is the largest system of non-governmental reproductive healthcare clinics in Uganda with 17 centers across Uganda, serving tens of thousands of men and women annually. During my time at Reproductive Health Uganda, I was responsible for: •Designing and carrying out a study to evaluate the effectiveness of RHU’s cervical cancer prevention program •Interviewing 100+ clients and service providers across the country; analyzed results, uncovering key barriers to service provision •Presenting findings and recommendations for improving program effectiveness to RHU leadership.
