2014 - 2018

  • Co-Founder, CEO, President

    2014 - 2018

I co-founded & led Cape (www.cape.com), a leading drone software provider acquired in 2019 by Motorola Solutions. We raised $20M from Google, NEA, and other leading venture & strategic investors. As President/COO and later CEO, I led fundraising, strategy, product, sales, customer success, finance, partnerships, and operations functions in several countries; I also designed the core of our user experience (e.g. drone control UI) for all our products, including world-first remote augmented reality drone gaming experiences for tens of thousands of players, our B2B/G SaaS suite, and our legacy automated skier filming product. After transitioning from B2C to B2B and securing our first B2B customers & initial $1MM in recognized revenue, I led the 2017 $10MM financing ($8MM investment/$2MM venture debt) round w/ Google, NEA, Telstra, Mitsui, and others. Highlights: - 25k+ online users worldwide flew well over 100k flights on cape.com (user on computer, drone an unlimited distance away with near-zero latency control and HD video) as part of our augmented reality drone flight gaming experiences (exploration, dogfighting) - Public safety personnel in multiple countries fly Cape-enabled drones over cities from headquarters every day; these missions have helped save lives, safeguard events/VIPs, and stop in-progress crime - Millions viewed the live remote drone feed over the San Francisco Bay by our first enterprise client, Facebook, at F8 2016 - Our automated follow/filming drones captured customers, including Olympic athletes, at marquee resorts in the US, Canada, and New Zealand For more info on capabilities, use cases, and careers, check out www.cape.com I worked with our Board to select an amazing new CEO (Chris Rittler) to scale Cape further after completing our evolution to a fully B2B/G company. In the first quarter of 2018, we worked together on the transition and I became Cape's biggest cheerleader. Acquired in 2019 by Motorola Solutions.

2012 - 2013

  • during Stanford MBA June 2012- June 2014 solo game development then Producer @Riot Games

    2012 - 2013

While completing my MBA at Stanford (full time program 2012-2014) I solo designed/developed/launched a cross-platform game (top-down "bullet hell" shooter) before joining Riot, where I worked with Riot leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver champion launch & esports content experienced by hundreds of millions of players (fulltime q3 '13, part-time afterward during second year). Though I loved my time at Riot and working with the incredibly talented people there, I chose not to return full-time back to my Producer job after the MBA due to the opportunity to launch Cape- and was immensely grateful for leadership's support amid what was an incredibly difficult decision.
