Currently synthesizing and characterizing Nucleic Acid orthologs to understand factors effecting duplex thermodynamics and conformation. Worked on characterizing the binding site of the liker domain of the protein VirA of Agrobacterium Tumefaciens via affinity labeling and peptide mapping. VirA is part of the VirA/VirG system which initiates and mediates DNA transformation of plants. This is used a method of genetic modification.
