Cofounded and served as CTO for an early Big Data infrastructure company that built a scale-out cluster file system suitable for mission-critical, latency-sensitive applications. We helped large enterprise and government customers move applications to horizontally-scaled industry-standard servers starting in 2002, long before the approach became common. As the technical founder and CTO, I helped recruit a world-class engineering and business team, raise multiple rounds of funding from Greylock Partners, NEA and Fidelity Ventures, design and deliver the product, and sell our technology into F500/G2000 accounts and major government environments. At time of acquisition by HP, we had over 1000 paying customers.
