Invested in strategically aligned startups as a leading director of the transaction team for Verizon Ventures. Served as a board member for portfolio companies with technologies that included AI, IoT, connected home, robotics, sports tech, media, fintech, and adtech. Investments spanned B2B and B2C, and included both SaaS and hardware. Partnered with Verizon BU teams to provide a bridge between external startup innovation and internal business objectives. Represented Verizon Ventures in industry associations and at CVC/VC/innovation events. Established the venture team’s operations, processes, and reporting, and oversaw events. Led new investments and managed a large, geographically diverse portfolio of Section 42 LIHTC tax credit real estate investments as well as a portfolio of commercial real estate leveraged leases. Closed more than 100 LIHTC transactions in custom designed proprietary funds with over a dozen tax credit syndicators, investing more than $1B in equity. Investments generated above market returns and were used to finance the development of affordable housing properties for low income families.
