The Thiel fellowship was founded by billionaire and Paypal founder Peter Thiel to empower individuals under 23 y/o who have distinguished themselves in business, science or social causes. The fellowship consists of a $100,000 USD grant given to the individual. With an acceptance rate well below 1%, the fellowship is considered more competitive than the US's top colleges. To date, companies created by Thiel Fellows are together worth more than $250 billion.
