Pitched to investors and helped raise initial rounds of funding. Shaped the product working with partners and changing demands. At times hands-on involvement in coding/design/review. Successful exit for 2 of 3 startups. All the startups were in IoT Data Streaming and Data science space providing different value adds from realtime telemetry and or network control plane traffic. Areas of applications were IoT security, Intelligence on traffic and monitoring management.

Started as an advisor to the founding team and eventually joined as co-founder to take charge of all development and technical strategy for SDN. Helped pitch the story to investors and close the seed round. As chief architect architected the product and mentored the engineering team. As CDO hired and managed a new development team at Silicon Valley by hiring talented software developers and automation engineers. Working with strategic technology partners to seamlessly integrate into a brand new security eco-system for Industrial control systems.

As Engineering leader steered the product towards robust and scalable architecture. Took charge of the product development and rebuilt the product from scratch for low latency real-time stream processing of high volume of messages using distributed, fault-tolerant and scalable architecture. Rebuilt the engineering team by hiring the right talent. Team morale was down due to executive shakeup when I joined. I got an opportunity to inspire and mentor team.

Creator of Open Source SDN Control Plane - ONOS (Architect)

Bootstrapped the open source project ONOS. Built the first prototype which wow'ed the industry that a scalable low-latency distributed control plane is feasible. Worked towards building the low-latency messaging building blocks and distributed consistency management of network state within the distributed control plane. Helped acquire initial sponsorships by demonstrating and pitching in front of industry leaders.

Provide strategic leadership for next generation real-time analytics and machine learning based network control and security initiatives. Applied research in new areas of opportunities using rapid prototyping using new open source technologies for network control plane initiatives. Applying technologies like Hadoop, OpenFlow, Lucene and NoSQL for next generation SDN initiatives.

Worked on cool challenges in cloud computing infrastructure and systems management. Drive technical direction of SOA based system management of Hadoop distributed grid computing environments as part cloud computing division. Lead and mentored geographically dispersed teams for developing various cloud computing software components in an agile development environment. Helped define and build new monitoring infrastructure for grid infrastructure and applications using innovative distributed computing and messaging technologies. Lead and initiated various experimental projects on next generation initiatives for cloud management to solve the elastic provisioning, availability challenges. Helped drive new research initiatives based on CEP and stream-based machine learning for operational intelligence.
