Weinberg Capital was launched in 2005 by Serge Weinberg, former CEO of Sanofi. The PE shop takes majority stakes in French mid-sized companies specialized in BtoB distribution, Healthcare and Industry products. WCP has over $1B assets under management. At WCP, I was in charge of researching on investment opportunities, either for a build up acquisition or for a portfolio acquisition. The task involved reading material sent by investment banks and sum it up in a review for the Investment Committee. For the most promising cases, it involved financial modelling and a full due dilligence process I also worked on valuating current portfolio companies on a regular basis, so that WCP could communicate an updated valuation to its investors Near the end of my contract with WCP, I was given the opportunity to work on the implementation of a $150m new investment fund Nobel that invests in medium-sized listed company, preparing with Nobel’s CEO a summary of investment opportunities in order to raise funds.
