*Elephant is a design agency initially created by Huge to serve Apple. At Elephant I had the opportunity to work on-site at Apple on a variety of projects for a diverse set of business units. Including the Apple Support App, Apple.com and Apple Store App. As part of the company’s leadership team, I’ve also helped Elephant grow on few different fronts: finding and keeping talent, working on defining the company’s identity and vision, expanding operations to New York and Rio as well as extending the roster of clients beyond Apple.

2014 - 2016

  • Product Design Director

    2014 - 2016

Over the course of my time at Huge I had the chance to work on mobile apps, wearable devices, Car OS and eCommerce for numerous global projects including Gucci, Samsung, LG and SkyPerfectTV. As a Product Design Director, I was partnering closely with the client (on-site and remote) and working with a talented team of User Experience Designers, Product Designers, Visual Designer, Developers, User Researches and more.

2012 - 2013

  • Head of Design and User Experience

    2012 - 2013

I joined Thomson Reuters to lead the design efforts behind Next, the consumer facing platform for Reuters Digital. I built and led a team of incredibly talented UX and UI designers, Illustrators, Design Technologists and Sales Designers. We designed and built a state-of-the-art news driven product that would interface with users throughout a website and a portfolio of apps. While Next was in the works I was also responsible for a suite of new and engaging advertising solutions and editorially driven initiatives including the website that hosted the 2012 election. The iOS apps were released on January 2013 and were promoted to "Editor's Choice" on the AppStore. A preview version of the site was launched in March of the same year and was well received by users and critics. A case study of this work is published on the book "Designing News" by Gestalten http://www.francescofranchi.com/designingnews

I've partnered with Snip.it's founder from day 1 helping him transform an idea into a vision and a product. After two years of product iterations the company was acquired by Yahoo: https://techcrunch.com/2013/01/22/yahoo-buys-snip-it-10-million/

2011 - 2012

  • Creative Director

    2011 - 2012

I was brought into AOL / Huffington Post Media Group to help improve this property visually and functionally. I’ve worked on building a stronger design team, establish the missing design process and create better communication between tech, edit and design departments. Some of the projects that I was responsible for include the election coverage, the iPhone app, the Huffington Magazine, a new site wide navigation and various social experiences.
