Coolwater Capital is "Y Combinator for emerging VCs". We run the highest-rated accelerator for emerging VC fund managers. We invest into VC funds as a limited partner, into General Partnerships and fund management companies, and also directly into tech companies. We have backed >256 funds which have collectively raised >$3b. Our GPs collectively have backed >5,000 companies, making us indirectly one of the world’s biggest tech accelerators. We are backed by investors with expertise in private equity, VC, and hedge funds, as well as leading tech industry executives. We have a Net Promoter Score amongst fund managers of 83. Among the areas where I've worked: source, diligence, and invest in GPs; institutionalize the firm; build out the platform resources to support our GPs; improve internal analytics, data, and processes; and upgrade our tech and analytics stack. We are a selective, complimentary community for experienced tech founders researching their next move. We share no-cost resources to help founders learn about angel investing, become a scout, join/start a PE/VC fund, ideate startup ideas, buy a company with private equity backing, become an interim executive, join boards, consult, or just get a job. We particularly welcome women and underrepresented minorities.

Versatile VC backs early-stage "investment tech" fintech companies which help investors generate alpha and win. For example, we’re investors in alternative data, investment research, administrative tools, alternatives marketplaces, and marketing tech to help gather assets. Our typical check size is $200,000 to $1,000,000. We built and manage: FoundersNextMove.com: a community for tech founders who have exited, and PEVCtech.com: a community for family offices, private equity funds, lenders, and VCs using technology and analytics to generate alpha in the private markets. Among the investment tech companies I've invested in: Xperiti - A modern expert network, leveraging AI and ML for greater efficiency (acquired by Ipsos) Addepar - Make smarter investment decisions and drive greater outcomes for the portfolios in your car Asaak - Asset-financing and mobile financial services in emerging markets ClarityMoney - AI-powered platform to manage consumer spending; generates rich behavioral data (acquired by Goldman Sachs Marcus) Earnest Analytics - Earnest Analytics helps companies and investors understand the world through data Drop Technologies - Cardify.ai from Drop unlocks the what and the why behind consumer spending Indiegogo - Platform to launch & fund innovative products Republic - Access vetted investments in startups, real estate, video games Stratifi - Client-profiling tools to make measuring risk simple Wonder - The future of knowledge delivery: on-demand research from analysts (Includes investments while a Partner at prior VC funds)
