The Technology Development Fund is under he auspices of the Ministry of Industry. The main objective of the fund is to strengthen development work and research in the field of technological development that aims at innovation in the Icelandic economy.

Sat on the board of the Information Technology special interest group of SI. SI - the Federation of Icelandic industries has around 1160 members, both companies and employer organisations. They are quite different from each other in terms of size, products and markets. This variety makes our job challenging and necessary at the same time. We take care to emphasize what the companies have in common while also looking after individual needs. The successful implementation of this strategy has made SI - the Federation of Icelandic Industries the largest and most influential employer organisation in the country.

The main objective of the fund is to strengthen development work and research in the field of technological development that aims at innovation in the Icelandic economy. Two expert committees consisting of in total 12 members from academia and industry are responsible for the expert assessment of the project proposals.
