Investment Strategist (Product Specialist)

The Investment Strategy (“IS”) team supports BlueMountain’s relationships with investors by sharing insights on investment funds, strategies, specific investments and related market views. The IS team is a key contributor to increasing the non-contractual duration, or “stickiness”, of investor capital and raising new investor capital. To help investment professionals focus on their core investment responsibilities, Investment Strategists act as surrogates for PMs for most investor interactions – via direct investor interactions, shared written insights, or by equipping other IS/IRMS team members with sufficient content to discuss independently. With extensive portfolio knowledge, Investment Strategists provide better overall access to knowledge for our investors. Investment Strategists are responsible for equipping the broader IRMS team with written commentary and timely updates.

Firm Strategy and Execution Analyst

Attended the seven-week Morgan Stanley Investment Banking Division (IBD) training program, where I received financial, accounting and modeling training. Projects throughout the analyst program were aligned with Morgan Stanley's three main business units: Institutional Securities, Asset Management and Wealth Management. Projects were categorized as either: Strategic Consulting Projects: Evaluating market trends, competitive forces and internal competencies to identify emerging opportunities for the Firm; providing leadership and support for the strategic development and capital planning process. M&A Execution Projects: Providing valuation analysis and execution expertise for potential mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and minority investments for Morgan Stanley.
