I joined Day One in a dual role, as a member of the investment team and as Head of Communications. I sourced seed investments, announced the launch of our second fund, and provided comms support to the portfolio. I left after realizing that I needed substantial time to recharge post-Robinhood.

I joined Robinhood as the 12th employee and first marketing/comms hire, reporting to the Co-CEOs. I scaled the comms org and managed seven people and agencies, responsible for product, corporate, executive, crisis, and internal communications, as well as our social media and blog platforms. My team and I led comms strategy for all product launches, funding rounds, market expansions, acquisitions, and brand campaigns. We also helped navigate sensitive matters related to product and security issues, leadership changes and re-orgs, regulatory inquiries and lawsuits, and international market departures. At the end of 2020, Robinhood had 1,100 employees, ~15 million users, an $11 billion valuation, and accounted for ~52% of new mobile brokerage accounts.
