With a patented process platform, ViVita Technologies, Inc. generates tissue replacements that are immunologically safe, thereby eliminating the need for repeat surgeries and immunosuppressive drug therapy for our patients, ultimately providing them with lifelong cures.
2010 - 2015
PhD Candidate, Biomedical Engineering
2010 - 2015
Completed my PhD in the Cell and Molecular Engineering track, with an emphasis in Biotechnology. I conducted my research in Dr. Kyriacos Athanasiou's lab, with a research focus in engineering robust and functional cartilage tissues using chemical and mechanical stimuli. In particular, I aimed to create neocartilages with tensile properties on par with native tissues, toward treating articular cartilage defects to prevent the onset of joint diseases such as osteoarthritis.

Research Intern
2015 - 2015
Support Director of Research in conducting fundamental due diligence to identify valuable investment opportunities in small cap biotech.
2006 - 2010
Development Assistant, College of Chemistry Alumni Affairs
2006 - 2010
With manager Dorothy Read, I worked to maintain the alumni database of UC Berkeley's College of Chemistry. Within the Alumni Affairs office, I increased the accuracy of the database system over 4 years, working to reduce the amount of returned mail received. I interacted with alumni through fundraising events, fundraising solicitations and in thanking them for their generous donations. Additionally, I helped compile Class Notes, for publication in the Catalyst magazine, a quarterly College of Chemistry publication, for which I also helped edit proofs. Finally, I launched the College of Chemistry's Facebook page to increase incoming undergraduate student interest in the program, and to maintain connections to Young Alumni.
2009 - 2009
Late Stage PR&D Intern
2009 - 2009
I worked with RA Jessica Yang and manager James Andya to reformulate an antibody drug to optimize yield during manufacturing. The drug was in the late stages of development, under IND approval and in Phase II clinical trials. My project sought to determine the effects of formulation on viscosity and stability of the product during manufacturing.
