inPact was a VC-backed, AI-powered enterprise SaaS platform designed to extract business data from complex commercial contracts for purposes of process automation and business intelligence. It was backed by Entrepreneur First, the world’s leading talent investor, funded by Reid Hoffman (founder of LinkedIn), the founders of DeepMind and PayPal, amongst others. Prior to inPact, CEO & Co-Founder Jose Sampedro founded LexKnights Pte. Ltd., a bootstrapped, legaltech SaaS company offering automated contract assembly solutions across three main lines: - LexKnights: Platform enabling startups and SMEs to quickly generate and sign custom legal agreements (e.g. NDAs, contractor agreements, employment letters…) by answering plain English questions in a chatbot-style interface and triggering an integrated e-signature flow. - DealPro: A prosumer mobile-first app for real estate and insurance agents to quickly and easily generate, track, sign and manage deal documentation with their customers. - LeaseAgreement.sg: D2C SaaS offering for landlords and tenants to customize, generate and sign residential lease agreements based on a digital version of the official template from Singapore’s Council of Estate Agencies. LexKnights was selected to take part in the first cohort in the GLIDE Legaltech Accelerator Program by the Singapore Academy of Law, Singapore’s first LegalTech Accelerator. It was revenue-generating and showed promise in pilots, particularly with DealPro used at the leading Singapore real estate agency. Notwithstanding, a decision was made to pivot to a different model pursued under inPact Technologies in search for greater scalability, defensibility and willingness to pay.
