    At Smartbox I lead a growing team responsible for the company's e-commerce platform, composed by 15 in-house people and an offshore team. Implementing Agile methodologies and coaching the team in their way to maturity and self-organization, using development best practices (TDD/BDD, code review, Continuous Integration, ...).

    As the CTO, I have: - Established an Agile IT team that helps the company follow the Lean startup principles by being fast and highly flexible. - Introduced TDD and BDD in the development cycle, as a way to improve the quality of the platform and to increase development efficiency. − Led the architecture of the platform, both on the software and the hardware side. Transitioning from a monolithic application based in Magento to a service oriented architecture with different services and a common API. − Helped establishing the tools to provide a set of useful business metrics that drive business decisions. Besides Google Analytics we also use Kissmetrics. − Actively participated in taking daily business decisions. − Participated in the Board of Directors to give updates on technology and explain architectural decisions and planning to the directors and investors.
