At fuzzy.ai we're making it easy for anyone to incorporate Machine Learning in to any sized project. In the same way that databases have become ubiquitous in the last 30 years, Machine Learning will steadily become a standard component of most systems, whether it's used for fraud or spam detection, price optimization, content recommendation, or proactive assistance. Any place that organic systems meet silicon, hardcoded rulesets just don't cut it. They're static approximations that leave money on the table or waste time and resources. We're helping customers create systems that start out smart and get smarter over time. At Fuzzy.ai I have the exciting task of making Machine Learning approachable and relevant to people who think they need a data science team to take advantage of this technology, and also the opportunity to make the promise and value of Machine Learning clear to people who have never heard of it, yet can take huge advantage of its benefits.
2011 - 2013
Co-Founder
2011 - 2013
With a small group of former Apple and Google engineers, we created an incredible platform for the Internet of Things, making it easier than ever for developers to create and mass-produce physical devices with internet intelligence. The core of Electric Imp is a small hardware module that can serve as both the brain and the WiFi-enabled cloud connection for internet-aware devices, and an always-on cloud service that gives the device powerful information-gathering and response capabilities, even if the device is offline. Thousands of developers are creating products using the Imp, including GE, Quirky, Budweiser, Rachio, Lockitron, and many more.

2008 - 2009
As FriendFeed's 2nd employee, I led FriendFeed's user experience design from its public launch through to its acquisition by Facebook in 2009. Many of FriendFeed's unique features continue on today in Facebook's News Feed.

Designed Gmail's original user experience and lead the Gmail UX team from 2003 to 2005. Designed Google Calendar and Google Reader, and lead the Google Apps UX team (known at the time as the 'CCC' group) for two years before returning to more hands-on work on a variety of Google products, both released and unreleased. As a member of Google's UX hiring committee, I helped to grow the User Experience team from 7 people to over 160 practitioners. As a permanent member of Marissa Mayer's UX review committee I shepherded dozens of products to launch-ready status. As Google's product offering grew I created and led the CCC UX review committee for non-search products such as Gmail, Blogger, Google Docs and Google Spreadsheets.
