PCH is a private company that designs custom manufacturing solutions for the world's best brands, from startups to Fortune 500s. Whether design engineering and development, manufacturing and fulfillment, distribution or retail, PCH takes on the toughest challenges. If it can be imagined, it can be made. PCH was established in 1996, as a manufacturing and supply chain management company. In the years since, PCH has expanded well beyond those bounds, employing nearly 2800 people worldwide, and having revenues over $1 billion in 2014. In recent years, PCH has made a targeted move into product design engineering and development and startup innovation. PCH is headquartered in Cork, Ireland with operational headquarters in Shenzhen, China and USA headquarters in San Francisco, CA, where PCH has its Innovation Hub. Liam now divides his time between San Francisco, Shenzhen and Cork.

Our first class of 11 startups began on 10/7/13. Now we want to use that expertise to help younger companies get ready for production and their first round of funding.

The Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation is UC Berkeley’s interdisciplinary hub for learning and making at the intersection of design and technology. We see design and technological innovation as integrally linked: innovation opens possibilities and extends the reach of design, while design links new technologies with human experiences and ensures that innovation truly benefits people and communities. Bringing together technical depth, design methodology, and a focus on societal impact, we aim to educate students who understand both the under-the-hood details that make something work and the big-picture context that makes something matter.
