Unpatent was the initial exploration that would eventually lead us to start Aragon. It was a crowdfunding platform to invalidate bad patents. Unpatent crowdsourced the search of prior art (any evidence that a patent is not novel) and conducted reexaminations before the PTO, automating the process. A large number of patents are stupid or obvious and they're actively used by patent trolls, extorters that acquire cheap patents and sue companies with them. Trolls take $29bn/year from the American economy, and have wasted more than $21bn from the VC industry.
