Managed consultants, business development and strategy for a new consulting company targeting cable and wireless telecom companies. The company’s value proposition is vendor neutral design and development of backend business systems for converged applications and networks. The Data Practice focused on managing technical strategy for a multi-million dollar Identity and Access Management deployment (Siteminder/Identity Manager and SunONE LDAP), evaluating vendors and strategy for new SOA architecture, and providing market and technology direction to the business sponsor’s Federated Identity project. As of 2011 the company is valued at roughly $20 million with over 30 senior consultants placed at customers such as Cox Communications, Time Warner, Sprint, and US Cellular.

Successfully bootstrapped a ground breaking aerospace startup in 2005 that grew from three founders to ten full time employees. This included raising $1.2 million in external capital, winning and managing SBIR grants, building financial models, business plan, investment pitches, channel strategies, and marketing/PR campaigns. The company won the Lunar Lander Challenge XPRIZE competition in 2009 for a total prize purse of $1.15 million.

Founded an RFID-enabled supply chain management startup focused on bringing Internet based supply chain solutions to small businesses. Provided technical leadership to EPCglobal, the recognized leader in RFID and supply chain automation standards and deployment. Startup closed down in August of 2005 due to immaturity of the market. Wrote two major software packages: xcEPC Network Core (Java classes for interfacing with the EPCglobal ) and the EPCBrowser for browsing product and supply chain data.
