2016 - 2022

  • Scientific Researcher

    2016 - 2022

Researcher at T-SMART laboratory and the Transportation Research Institute. • Research conducted focused on optimization, optimal control systems, traffic signal control, bus priority and simulation. • Formulated an optimal control problem through both a continuous-time and discrete-time models while modeling queue dynamics over cycles. • Derived an optimal control policy for operating the signalized intersection through analytical solutions of the continuous-time model. • Solved the discrete-time non-convex, non-linear and constrained optimization problem with both equality and inequality constraints, through using sequential quadratic programming algorithm (SQP). • Modeled the integration of consecutive traffic signal lights. • Evaluated the developed models under micro-simulation environment in AIMSUN while using model predictive control (MPC) in the operation of the adaptive traffic signal control developed. • Carried thorough analysis of analytical, numerical and simulation results found.

  • Teaching Assistant

    2017 - 2020

Transportation Engineering and Management Course - 014733(81)” taught for Technion International undergraduate senior students. 4hr weekly sessions for around 50 students. Language of instruction is English. Syllabus: Traffic flow characteristics analysis, statistical models, traffic flow modeling, cell transmission models (CTM), designing signalized (fixed and actuated) and unsignalized intersections. Lab instruction of operating micro-simulation in AIMSUN.

  • East Jerusalem Ambassador

    2017 - 2020

Participated in social events organized by the TI, initiated info sessions and meetings, hosted potential students and organized info sessions and tours with high school and university students in East Jerusalem, to promote TI study abroad programs.

  • Private Tutor

    2011 - 2017
