  • Brand CMK

    2016 - 2016

Through this role I was tasked on developing a strategy to fight off Private Label Brands. Through my work, however, I realized there was a significant intra-portfolio cannibalization problem and delivered insights on packaging, promotions, shelving, and design in order to drive a sales lift of $4.5M. The changes I recommended can be seen on packages in stores right now. Key results listed below: 1. Adjusted "Go-to-Market" strategy for a $300 million brand to deliver a 1.5% sales lift ($4.5 million). Recommendations were implemented and are consumer facing. 2. Organized and executed research involving 250+ consumers that drove insights into developing differentiation in a commoditized market. 3. Analyzed market data to identify previously unrecognized intra-portfolio cannibalization problems hindering sustainable brand growth. Delivered recommendations that were picked up for further work.

Earned the President’s Undergraduate Research Award for demonstrating highly applicable and original research. Collaborated with NASA to create shielding against hypervelocity debris (traveling at speeds up to 1.5 km/s) for space-crafts. Results are in publication pipeline. Tested shielding configurations for the Orion Spacecraft (meant to facilitate Mars exploration in 2021). Tested possible shielding configurations for future Low Earth Orbit satellites including Bulk Metallic Glass Matrix Composites, Whipple Shields, and Cellular Structures. Quantified high-strain responses of Bulk Metallic Glasses with varying dendritic composition.

I assisted in the logistics of on-boarding recently acquired breweries, optimized production volume (adding 50k barrels of capacity), and developed a logistical tool to expedite new-product roll-outs and to drive transparency when key promotional activity was not being executed. 1. Found over 50K barrels of additional brewery capacity by developing production-mix models that are still in use. 2. Presented recommendations directly to the VP of Supply on adjustments to three craft brewery expansion projects. 3.Executed and owned development of logistical platforms to add transparency to integration of acquired breweries.
