I worked in backend and frontend engineering roles for entertainment and internet startups. At Victorious, I designed and developed various Java-based micro-services serving mobile and web clients, utilizing AWS services like EC2, DynamoDB, S3, SNS, SQS, and Kinesis. I worked on cross-platform subscription and notification services. As the sole backend engineer, I contributed to a stealth mode video-stitching product, managing user registration, multimedia data, and audio/video transcoding. Additionally, I played a key role in designing, architecting, and implementing the micro-services style backend system, transitioning from a monolithic system. At Themer, an Android launcher app with 5M+ installs, I built crucial user-facing components. I created a platform for generating "Theme apps" to attract more users to Themer. I gained insight into the contractual obligations of Android Launchers and Widgets, developed custom UI widgets, and adhered to material design guidelines.
2009 - 2013
Research Associate

Most of the efforts during this time were for a company that spun off from the METIL lab through the business incubation program. I was involved in designing, architecting, and developing two generations of mLearning platforms, being responsible for the Android part of the platforms. Both platforms targeted the global market, operating in hi-fi, low-fi, and no-fi areas. I oversaw the development of other Android applications (mLearning, mHealth & conferences), and expanded/maintained an older mLearning platform. There were a few stints where I managed and supervised interns. I was one of the founding engineers of the team and witnessed the company's journey from idea to inception, and onboarding new customers. During this time, I worked directly with C-level officers and collaborated with designers, inter/intra-platform engineers, business, and sales teams. I participated in every step of the product development cycle, including support, maintenance, documentation, planning, and customer interfacing. I engaged in a lot of innovation, prototyping, and production-level implementations. I built the infrastructure for Android and also helped define processes for building and managing products. My engineering skills were both broadened and deepened, allowing me to own and manage multiple products simultaneously.
2009 - 2011
Researcher
2009 - 2011
Under Dr. Foroosh's guidance and mentorship, I had the opportunity to work on an exciting augmented reality system called "Virtual Book." This system enables the projection of digital data onto a rectangular area, allowing users to interact with the content using hand gestures in the world of Augmented Reality.
