In 2019, I was sworn in as patent attorney and continued to represent tech companies in both prosecution and litigation matters.

HOYNG ROKH MONEGIER is a top-tier intellectual property law firm with teams of seasoned litigators and technical experts. During the first 3 years at HRM, I was part of the litigation team who represented ASML in their worldwide patent dispute against Nikon, while training to become a patent attorney. I have also drafted and prosecuted patent applications for several listed tech companies.

I have conducted research at the group of John Marohn, in which we manufactured and tested a new type of force sensor to be used in magnetic resonance force microscopy (MRFM). This project was supported by a scholarship from the LUF International Study Fund.

Being part of the Tjerk Oosterkamp group, I have conducted research in the field of condensed matter physics, studying quantum behavior in copper samples at extreme low temperatures. For this I used an emerging imaging technique (called "MRFM") which acquires MRI images at the atomic scale.

Lugus is an organisation for startups in Leiden, and a tangible result from a project initiated in 2013 by tech entrepreneur Wouter Bruins and me ("Vrijplaats Leiden") to stimulate entrepreneurship among young and ambitious students. One year after its establishment, Lugus counted over 100 members and several sponsors (a.o. Leiden University, HSL and Gemeente Leiden). In 2017, I was awarded an honorary membership (Lid van Verdienste).

The Faculty of Science is headed by the Faculty Board, consisting of the dean, the deputy dean, the director of financial management and a student member. As the student member, I have represented the interests of students within the faculty in areas like education and services to students.

I have worked in the group of Martina Huber in which I studied the interaction of Alzheimer's peptide with model cell membranes, using EPR (Electron Paramagnetic Resonance) as imaging technique.

The Lorentz Center is a workshop center that hosts international scientific meetings of typically one week. The workshops are characterized by an open and interactive atmosphere and their high scientific quality.
