The Board is comprised of 15 members, including 9 of the most renowned professors of the school, 2 students, and CEO's from some of Portugal's largest enterprises. Among its responsibilities, falls electing the Dean of the School and approving ISEG's General Guidelines, namely in terms of Scientific, Pedagogical, Service Provision, Financial and Patrimonial Management, as well as its Relations with External Entities. Also, appreciate and monitor the performance of the Dean of the School and its Management Board, and act upon them.

UECE produces research, both theoretical and applied, mainly in Economics, but also in the Sciences of Complexity and in inter-disciplinary areas.
