My First Million

Had a mini retirement since selling my last business. Did a few small projects. - CopyThat (https://trycopythat.com/)...a quick little course on how to write better. Copywriting was the most game-changing skill I learned. So, I have a little course on it. - Marathon Ranch (https://www.marathonranch.com/)...my wife and I own and operate a small real estate business, including an Airbnb on our ranch outside of Texas. - I have a few other internet companies that I've started and will be announcing soon.

Started this in my kitchen with $12. Grew to 8-figures in revenue, nearly 3 million readers a day, and then sold to HubSpot in a very successful exit about 4 years after the product launched. The Hustle was a media company. 3m people subscribed to our daily tech and business newsletter. We also owned Trends.co, a paid newsletter and community that deconstructed cool companies. And finally, we had a bunch of conferences. Sometimes with thousands of attendees! We were one of the pioneers of the newsletter business. Tons of our employees went on to start newsletter businesses and agencies, which shows how cool it was. We really did help invent the game, which I'm proud of. The Hustle also owned My First Million, which is now one of the most popular business podcasts in the world with tens of millions of listeners. I'm the host with Shaan Puri!

The Anti-MBA is a badass book club and my personal blog (which I don't update much anymore :( ). We read a book a month and host weekly meetings lead by experts on that book's topic. For example, when we read Influence, by Robert Ciadini we had the founder of Klout lead the discussion. And when we read The Art of Learning we had David Torrence, an Olympic track and field runner (his mile time is 3:52!). To sign up or read our amazing blog, head to http://www.theantimba.com/. FYI: this isn't a business...just a hobby.

My second profitable company. There were many, many failures before this. Convinced me to leave college and move to San Francisco to try the big leagues. Weiner's as big as a baby's arm: https://gumroad.com/l/UBQCJ

My first profitable company. Helped pay my way through college. There's an awesome story behind this one. Buy me lunch and I'll tell you about it. Hot wings are my favorite food.
