All of our investor meetings finish with a schmooze complete with food, drink and sometimes live music! This give startups a rare opportunity to talk with investors in a relaxed atmosphere over cocktails The Westchester Angels gets The Best Deal Flow due to our Syndication efforts. We started by gathering NYC/TriState Angel Groups to share Deal Flow. We then expanded to Boston and now are leading Syndication efforts from Pa to Maine. I was indeed fortunate to create and self-fund The Small Business Advisory Alliance (SBAA) to give back to my community. The objective was to prevent local small business owners from making the same mistakes I've made in business over the past 30 years! The SBAA (a 501 C3 organization) offered free, no-strings attached, one-on-one consultations provided by experienced business/financial professionals. SBAA One-on-Ones provided a relaxed and confidential setting for participants to talk with knowledgeable experts who would answer questions, give guidance and educate. Consultations were provided in the following areas: business coaching, business plan review, marketing/public relations, website development, computer systems/IT, accounting, business insurance, health insurance, retirement plans and personal finance. In two years and a half years of existence we were able to help over 75 local businesses! We were indeed fortunate to partner with The United Way of Westchester and Putnam and Community Capital of New York.
