Promoted to a newly formed innovation unit to size potential $1B+ markets for data monetization, I served as Director and GM of the Precision Markets Insights unit, led end-to-end business strategy and managed a $100M+ P&L. We launched the product with 15 deals and grew the team to around 35 staff and 100 cross-functional contributors. Later became Verizon Location Services. To support the rapid pace of innovation, I transformed the culture with simpler processes, shorter contracts, and by creating a shared awareness of the “why” of what we were doing. I established a monthly all-hands meetings for training, brainstorming and workshops and created a diverse team with mutual trust and drive. I led groundbreaking privacy strategy research about customer expectations for data collection and sharing, working with privacy, policy and general counsel. What we learned allowed us to exceed opt-in forecasts by 10%. Expanding my outside network, I joined the Mobile Marketing Association and Internet Advertising Bureau Boards and became a regular speaker at various industry events on panels and keynotes including IAB, MMA, CTIA and iMedia. I’m proud to have been one of 27 executives selected for Verizon’s “Building Executive Talent for Women” inaugural executive development program.
