Work Experience

  • Science Director

    2024

  • Science Advisor

    2023 - 2024

2019 - 2022

  • Investment Associate

    2019 - 2022

I performed deal sourcing, due diligence, and negotiations for investments in early-stage companies built on foundations of scientific innovation. I worked mainly with companies in the physical sciences, with a particular focus in energy storage and in applications where AI overlaps with the physical world, such as in computational material discovery and manufacturing automation.

2012 - 2019

  • Graduate Student Researcher

    2012 - 2019

I worked with Prof. Sandra Troian in the Laboratory of Interfacial & Small Scale Transport {LIS2T} investigating several topics involving transport and deformation of liquids driven by surface stresses. My main project was a numerical study of the response of free liquid surfaces to strong applied electric fields with an aim to optimize a Liquid Metal Ion Source (LMIS) satellite thruster. Work was primarily computational but I was also involved in experimental aspects of designing the satellite thruster.

  • NASA Space Technology Research Fellow

    2014 - 2017

  • Undergraduate Student Researcher

    2009 - 2012

I designed and ran experiments that utilized asynchronous magnetic bead rotation to outperform existing commercial antibiotic susceptibility testing (AST) on pathogenic E. coli bacteria. I also designed and built electronic and microfluidic devices that increased the efficiency of the AST system.
