2019 - 2020

  • Product Lead, Consumer Lending

    2019 - 2020

Led a team of 3 product managers and 20+ engineers and data scientists in San Francisco. We built Square Installments, which brings omni-channel point-of-sale financing to Square merchants. During my time at Square, we scaled the product from MVP to national scale and achieved the following milestones: - Onboard Celtic bank as the lender to expand to all US states - Re-design the application experience to improve conversion - Achieve positive unit economics by developing next gen fraud and risk models - Develop a vertical-based high touch onboarding strategy for high value merchants I also applied for a patent for our idea of integrating small $ installment lending directly into the Square point-of-sale.

2015 - 2019

  • Director of Product

    2015 - 2019

Hired and led a team of 5 product managers in San Francisco, CA and Richmond, VA. My team was working on LendUp Loans, which included a safe alternative to Payday lending as well as credit building lower-cost Installment Loans. I joined the company before its Series B and helped grow loan originations from <$100M in 2015 to $1.5B+ by late 2018. Key accomplishments / projects during my time: - Scaled LendUp loan originations to $1.5B+ cumulative lent by late 2018 - Launched a new Installment loan product line for new customers - Expanded LendUp Payday loans into 8 new states, representing a 50% expansion in geographical footprint - Led infrastructure upgrades to move to a new loan management system, integrate with additional data providers and increase time to market for risk model updates - Introduced customization to the LendUp ladder, leading to significant increases in loan sizes for most customers I joined LendUp as a Senior Product Manager and was promoted to Group Product Manager in August 2016 and Director of Product in January 2018.

2011 - 2015

  • Senior Business Manager

    2011 - 2015

In this role I reported to the GM of the Venture business and led a number of strategic projects and initiatives to improve the Venture customer experience. Highlights include: - Enhanced rewards redemption capabilities - Prototyping and testing metal-substrate cards (broad-scale launch happened in 2017, after I had left) - Launch and manage national scale promotion ("Double Miles Challenge") and enhanced early spend bonus offers In addition to these customer-facing changes, I was led several strategic initiatives to evolve and expand the Venture portfolio: - Renegotiation of the interchange contract with Visa - Evaluation of M&A acquisition targets by partnering with the Corporate Development team - Evaluate ways to grow the Travel Rewards footprint by launching adjacent products as well as new marketing strategies I joined Capital One as a Senior Business Analyst and was promoted twice: To Business Manager and then to Senior Business Manager. In my 3.5 years at Capital One, I managed a total for 3 interns and 2 FTE.
