Built "cyborg dragonflies." Our team created custom chips hooked into the brains of dragonflies to read out their brain signals during flight. The underlying technology was akin to souped-up UHF RFID tags -- i.e. harvesting 10 micro-watts of RF power and then intelligently backscattering radar signals to transfer data at more than 100Mbps. I specifically worked on the basestation transceiver (i.e. reader) for coherent demodulation. Worked out of Matt Reynolds' lab and was supported to a prestigious NSF / CRA "Computing Innovation" (CI) Postdoc Fellowship.
