I looked after the middle office and help support the Head Trader at the $7B Asset Manager. My main duties were to ensure the trades were correct for our equity and fixed income portfolios. Ensuring that all the positions were updated correctly to allow the Head trader to work out the trades. Processing of Derviatives such as FX forwards, futures, swaps and CDS's. I also gain some experience by being the back up for the Head trader and doing more on the execution side of the trades. Forecasting the cash balances for the multi-currency accounts and ensured that there was enough liquidity. As well as reconciling the positions and cash balances. I worked the Portfolio Managers, Chief Strategist and Chief Investment Officer with queries ranging from creating models, attribution reports and generic positioning queries.

Accounting based role where I was able to spend time with the range of teams across BNZ's Finance division. I worked mainly with the service desk team where we would create reports and solve issues for the wider business. Ranging from the following: Producing reports ranging from expense reports to customer information. Using Business objects and creating multiple reports that I set up to run automatically for customers from the wider business. Creating models that allowed project managers to forecasts expenses in a very detailed approach. This allowed us to increase the accuracy of expected costs and also keep track of variances between budgets and actuals. Month End processes such as reconciliations, monthly reporting to the head of diversions. And assisting with the release on the Online P&L for the bank. Achievements: I was recognized as a high achiever within our team. As a result, I have been given the opportunity to work on special projects and any specialized training as well as being nominated to attend a RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) program. Receiving a quarterly finance award for challenging status quo and being helpful in the wider finance teams
