Assessed a variety of projects, ranging from precious and base metals to uranium and iron ore. Undertook detailed technical reviews of mining projects and operations. Travelled regularly, both nationally and internationally, to meet clients and undertake reviews. Used results of technical reviews to refine financial models and develop funding solutions that were acceptable to both TrailStone and the client.

Initial contract position with similar responsibilites and role to full-time position, but reporting to the Managing Director for Commodities (Mining Finance) in London.

Senior Research Fellow/Research Fellow

2005 - 2011

A research-only position (i.e., no lecturing or administrative commitments) funded by mining companies and government grants. Sponsors included Gold Fields, Barrick and Silver Lake Resources. Investigated the geological architecture and evolution of a variety of Archean gold and base-metal deposits in an effort to improve success rates for the discovery of new mines. Used a multi-disciplinary approach to understand a range of controls on metal enrichment. Regularly visited mining operations and engaged with mining staff.
